Licensing Training Workshop

Place: Coco Resorts, SAINT LUCIA Date:   29th - 30th June, 2009 Rationale for workshop: Although the ECTEL framework aims to promote harmonization, the procedures utilized in the licensing process have varied within the region. The workshop is intended to streamline and harmonize the licensing procedures utilized within the region. Objectives: 1.Instructing NTRC staff on the licensing process 2.Identifying remedies for existing anomalies within the licensing process 3.Producing a standardized modular training template on the licensing system in ECTEL Workshop Synopsis: Participants will be exposed to the principles that should be adhered to in granting licences as well as the judicial review process. Once a general overview of the relevant legislation is accomplished the types of licences, licence classification and characteristics will be dealt with. Focus will then be placed on the individual licensing process, class licences and spectrum and billing. The session on common errors addresses the mistakes that have been made in the past with a view to ensuring that they are not repeated.  Practical exercises on the information presented will be interspersed between presentations to ensure that parties to reinforce the information provided.
